Below the Surface. Protecting your Beach, One River at a Time Mission Statement Vision Goals What We Do Expedition Team
Mission Statement: Below the Surface is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration of and education about the issues surrounding water. Vision: The adoption of regional and national policies that support biologically sound business practices and require the reuse and recycling of all non-point and point sources of water pollution. Broaden public support for the expansion of natural riparian zones along river banks in agricultural regions, enhanced filtration and reuse requirements for wastewater discharge permits. Provide visual tools to water policymakers and stakeholders. Enable visual and quantitative scientific exploration of rivers. Provide individuals with a means to take action to improve water quality in their communities. Below the Surface exploration teams operate 2 core campaigns - Riverview and the 90 Day Plan. Riverview is our mapping effort that provides panoramic views and videos of the main rivers in America. The 90 Day Plan: 90 Ways in 90 Days to Clean and Conserve Water is our educational program based on the number of days it takes for water to flow from a river's source to its terminus in the ocean. Below the Surface is currently seeking tax exemption. The Surfrider Foundation is acting Fiscal Agent for Below the Surface.
