Coastal Expedition Leader, CFO, Co-Founder
Jared Robinson Criscuolo graduated from St Lawrence University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Government, with minors in History and French.
While at St Lawrence, Jared lived and studied in France for 6 months, served a term as the President of his class, two terms as Senator, and as the Student Activities Committee Vice Chair and Chairman. He worked for the Munn Writing Center as a writing tutor and as an Outdoor Guide leading students and faculty into the Adirondack Mountains on expeditions and day trips. For his commitment to the St Lawrence community, he was recognized as Outstanding Freshman Senator and was awarded a scholarship to support an internship with the Governor of Connecticut.
As an avid skier, outdoorsman and waterman, Jared is intimately familiar with the environmental damage and public health risks caused by water pollution in rivers and along the coastline. To deal proactively with this problem that has affected him personally, Jared is a member of the Surfrider Foundation’s San Diego Chapter. With Surfrider, he has served on the Executive Committee, as Chairman of the Know Your H20 Campaign and currently sits on the Advisory Committee. He is currently an advisor to the CEO of Surfrider’s “Where’s Your Beach” initiative. In addition, he serves the San Diego community through the Equinox Center as a Strategic Advisor on water sources and management.
For the past 3 years, Jared has worked closely with Southern California wastewater and water districts, businesses, non-profit organizations, local politicians and other regional and national groups to understand and advocate for environmentally and economically sound solutions to water pollution.
Below the Surface is an expansion of Jared’s advocacy for and commitment to comprehensive management of water in all phases of its life cycle – from precipitation and mountain springs to sewage outfall pipes and runoff. His role in Below the Surface is Coastal Expedition Leader, CFO and Co-founder.
In addition to Below the Surface, Jared has worked as a teacher, investment advisor and solar energy consultant. Personally and through Below The Surface, Jared lives his and Below The Surface’s commitment to "Be The Solution" through leading by example. He does this because at the end of the day, we all live downstream.
